Relation Insurance Services, formerly Ascension Insurance, is a specialty insurance brokerage that offers superior risk-management and benefits-consulting services through its family of brands across the United States. Since our founding in 2007, we’ve grown to approximately 500 employees in 30+ offices nationwide to connect our insurance solutions to your life and business challenges.
We’re committed to helping mid-market businesses navigate their myriad insurance needs by building relationships and leveraging the right mix of people, partnerships, processes, and technologies. And under the guidance of our seasoned leadership team, headquartered in Walnut Creek, California, our goal is to build a 100-year-old company by having the best talent, tools, and strategies in the industry.

In 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, we were named to Insurance Business America’s list of “Elite Agencies.” In 2017 and 2018, we were listed in Insurance Journal’s top 50 independent insurance brokerages in the U.S based on revenue size the prior year. Our Family of Brands
We’re proud of our nationwide family of brands, which includes some of our industry’s biggest giants, including Pan American, provider of protection for the agricultural industry since 1946. Not all of our acquisitions have this depth of history but are notable players in their respective fields, such as (formerly named) Renaissance Insurance Agency, the leading provider of collegiate health solutions; (formerly named) Summit America, the top intercollegiate athletic insurance firm in the country; and Transure Services, which has served the transportation industry for more than 50 years.
We’ve taken a thoughtful and deliberate approach to our growth, and to date we’ve made more than 20 acquisitions. With each acquisition, we look to enhance our existing specialties, enter a new product or industry niche, expand our geographical reach to tap into new clientele, and/or add great new talent to our team.
Our size affords us the resources to react quickly and deploy additional support as needed—but size is not our primary goal. We aim to be the most responsive insurance consulting services company you’ve ever worked with.
Our Partnership with Aquiline
As a privately held corporation, primary ownership interests are held by our private equity partner: Aquiline Capital Partners.
Aquiline Capital Partners, founded in 2005 and based in New York and London, is a private equity firm investing in businesses across the financial services sector in banking and credit, insurance, investment management, and financial technology and services.
